Jannie Jones in ETHEL WATERS, HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW

I

hope you will take some time to visit my links and enjoy my website, which contains descriptions of my plays, the plays' production requirements, and quotes from theater critics. Three of the plays form a trilogy of musical biographies of influential African-American women in show business. They are: HI-HAT HATTIE, THE STORY OF HATTIE McDANIEL; ETHEL WATERS, HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW; and MY CASTLE'S ROCKIN', THE STORY OF ALBERTA HUNTER. One is a biography of that great band leader, singer, and performer, Cab Calloway: HI-DE-HI-DE-HO, CAB CALLOWAY. The others are INVASION OF PRIVACY, about the lawsuit brought against author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings after the publication of her book, CROSS CREEK; SUNDEW, a spiritual look at ecology; and SHUNNED, about the challenges facing an Amish family in Northern Indiana in today’s changing world.

My profound thanks to Richard Hopkins and the whole play development process at Florida Studio Theatre.  I would not have found any success as a playwright without their ongoing help.

If you have any questions or comments for me or about my website please feel free to contact me by visiting my contact page or signing my guestbook page.

Thanks again,
